December 9: First edition of #TEDx AshokaAfrica with the participation of Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, Dr. Priscilla M Achakpa, Haron Wachira and Jennifer Uchendu

Ashoka’s first edition of #TEDxAshokaAfrica on December 9th at 2pm GMT +1.
The theme is “Everyone a Changemaker for the Environment” this event will bring together bright minds to foster learning and inspiration – with a focus on creating a greener future for all – given the urgency to act.
With the participation of ; 
Dr Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, the founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH), an award-winning NGO that protects endangered gorillas and other wildlife through One Healt approaches. CTPH’s most recent award is the 2020 Saint Andrews Prize for the Environment. 
Dr Priscilla M Achakpa, the founder/Global President of, Women Environmental Programme (WEP) a regional NGO, that has been in existence for the past 24 years. She has done extensive work on the rights of women and youth on environmental, socio-economic and political issues. 
Haron Wachira, through a model that relies on aggregating production, co-ownership of agricultural businesses, and retooled value chains, Haron has created a win-win scenario for subsistence farmers and agro-processing businesses in Kenya. To finance free agronomy training for farmers, Haron relies on carbon credit-linked programmes for funding. 
Jennifer Uchendu the founder of SustyVibes – a youth-led organisation making sustainability actionable in Nigeria. Her work is focused on climate action, ecofeminism and youth development. Recently, Jennifer began researching the intersects between climate change and mental health to further support youth climate activists in Africa.
